We’re All Over The Fire Tonight’s New EP — See Both Bands Jan. 21

TheFireTonight-AndThenYouWereGone

Sat., Jan. 21, 2012 in Anderson, SC we’re playing a show with The Fire Tonight at McGee’s Irish Pub. We’ve been through a lot with The Fire Tonight. Their own Collin Derrick and Stephen Russ produced, engineered and mixed our debut album, Constance. Before that they rescued and looked after Daniel for three days when his car broke down after a gig at McGee’s—the very venue that will see our bands reunite on stage for the first time in years. This show will be The Fire Tonight’s first down south since releasing their harrowing and sonically experimental new EP, And … [Read More]

A Romantic Weekend w/ the Explorers Club

exclb

This weekend we’re playing two shows with the Explorers Club: Fri., Dec. 9 in Columbia, SC, and Sat., Dec. 10 in Charleston, SC. Joining us are The Sea Wolf Mutiny, Elonzo, Run Dan Run and Harrison Ray. We spent two magical nights with the Explorers Club during the 2011 hurricane season playing shows in our respective hometowns. There seemed to be chemistry; even sparks in the air (it may have been the category 1 winds). As we set off to play our second two-nighter with them this Friday and Saturday we can’t help but think our relationship is growing into … [Read More]

2011 Music Crawl, Nov. 5 — with Horns!

musiccrawl2011

The Free Times Music Crawl in Columbia, SC is always a sustained adrenaline rush. First there’s the sheer number of bands—many your friends—performing overlapping sets in five clubs within walking distance of each other; a rare occurrence in our college football-centric home town. This year 41 bands are performing and there is absolutely no way we’ll be able to see everyone we want to. That frenzied festival vibe is an exciting thing to have at your doorstep and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of it. Ah, we’re gushing. But we can’t help it—the Music Crawl is simply … [Read More]

Welcome, Aleks Amer

Aleks

We’re happy to be playing our first full-band hometown show tomorrow, April 30, with our newest member, Aleks Amer. Aleks joined us on drums, banjo, guitar and vocals last month after the departure of Josh Latham and has since traveled with us to Spartanburg, Clemson and Athens, GA. We’re excited to be returning home for our first full-band show with him among our friends and family. Aleks started music young, twice performing tenor and hand bells at the Festival of Lessons and Carols. As a drummer Aleks has performed with many favorite acts in the Columbia post-hardcore scene, including Pop39, … [Read More]

Cold Mountain’s Tim Eriksen & Riley Baugus – Tues. May 25 in Columbia, SC‏

Tim Eriksen

Friends, this coming Tuesday (May 25) we’re playing with two of our favorite musicians: Tim Eriksen and Riley Baugus. Daniel first heard them in the film Cold Mountain, for which Tim was a music consultant, and has since delved deeply into their larger bodies of work—work that includes their phenomenal solo albums, Riley’s collaborations with the likes of Willie Nelson, Robert Plant and Allison Krauss, and Tim’s tireless work passing down the shape note singing tradition. Some of you may remember seeing Riley’s skilled, hilarious and informative performance at our Constance album release (he has since performed with Willie Nelson … [Read More]
